Privacy Policy for Brevio

Last updated: December 2025

Brevio ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Brevio — including the Brevio Custom GPT within ChatGPT and any related apps or integrations.

1. Overview

Brevio helps users summarize and interact with newsletters using AI. To provide this service, we access and process specific information from your connected email account (e.g., Gmail) solely for the purpose of generating summaries and insights.

We follow the principle of data minimization: we only process what's needed, and you stay in control of your data at all times.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

  • Email address and account information used to connect Brevio to your inbox.
  • Preferences such as language, time zone, and topics of interest.
  • Questions or prompts you type when interacting with Brevio.

b. Information from Connected Services

If you connect a Gmail account:

  • We request read-only access to emails in the mailbox you authorize.
  • Brevio reads metadata (sender, subject, date) and newsletter content to generate summaries.
  • Attachments, drafts, and private messages unrelated to newsletters are ignored whenever possible.
  • No emails are sent, deleted, or modified on your behalf.

c. Automatically Collected Information

We may collect limited technical information for operational and analytical purposes:

  • Log data (e.g., request timestamps, API usage).
  • Performance metrics (e.g., number of processed emails, summary generation time).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  1. Provide and maintain Brevio's core functionality (summarization, Q&A, and trend detection).
  2. Improve the quality and accuracy of AI summaries.
  3. Manage your subscription, account limits, and support requests.
  4. Detect and prevent misuse or abuse of the service.

We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third parties beyond trusted processors required to operate the service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Summaries and metadata (sender, subject, date) are stored by default.
  • Full email content is stored only if you explicitly enable this option in Settings.
  • You can delete any or all of your data at any time from within Brevio or by contacting support.
  • Deleted data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

5. Security

We use encryption, access control, and token hashing to protect your data:

  • OAuth 2.0 is used for secure authentication with Gmail.
  • Access tokens are stored encrypted and never exposed to the GPT or third parties.
  • Communications between Brevio and its backend are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
  • We regularly review security measures and limit employee access to personal data.

6. Data Sharing and Processors

We do not sell or rent your data. We only share data with trusted service providers acting as processors, such as:

  • OpenAI (for ChatGPT-based access)
  • Google Cloud (for email integration and storage)
  • Payment provider (e.g., Paddle or Lemon Squeezy) for managing subscriptions

Each processor is bound by strict data protection agreements and only processes data as required to deliver Brevio's services.

7. International Data Transfers

Depending on your location, your data may be processed or stored on servers outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, consistent with GDPR and similar privacy frameworks.

8. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your stored data.
  • Request correction or deletion.
  • Revoke permissions (e.g., disconnect Gmail).
  • Export summaries or data before deletion.
  • Contact us for privacy inquiries at info@brevio.biz.

9. Children's Privacy

Brevio is not intended for use by individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
